Privacy
We respect your privacy and handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020. This section explains what we collect through the Website and how we use it.
What we collect
- Information you give us, for example your name, email address, phone number, company and the contents of your message when you use our contact form, email or call us, or apply for a role with us.
- Technical information, such as your IP address, browser and device type and the pages you visit, collected automatically by our website hosting and by the security, performance and analytics tools we use.
How we use it
We use personal information to respond to enquiries and provide quotes and services, to operate, secure and improve the Website, to keep records and meet our legal obligations, and to contact you about our services where you have asked us to or where the law allows. We will only send you marketing messages if you have consented or the law otherwise permits, and every marketing message will include a way to unsubscribe, as required by the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with people who help us run our business, such as our website hosting provider (Google Cloud), website security, performance and spam-filtering tools (such as Jetpack and Akismet), email delivery services and professional advisers, or where the law requires or permits disclosure. Some of these providers store or process information outside New Zealand, including in the United States. Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to make sure it is protected by safeguards comparable to those in the Privacy Act 2020.
Information we collect from other sources
Sometimes we collect information about a person from someone other than that person, for example from a customer who gives us the details of a site contact, from a referrer, or from publicly available sources. Where we do, we will let the person concerned know as required by the Privacy Act 2020, unless an exception applies.
Storage, security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access or disclosure. We keep it only for as long as we need it for the purposes described above or as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it. To do so, or if you have a privacy question or complaint, please contact our Privacy Officer at admin@carbonsecurity.co.nz. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at www.privacy.org.nz.
